New 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz USA Price – 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz has a pickup Bed. Now Hyundai has a crossover and SUV to seemingly everybody, it’s ready to enter the war pickup truck with the 2021 Santa Cruz. Apart from a concept that debuted a few years ago and the company promises recently to build it, we don’t know much about the first Hyundai with a cargo bed.

A feature that can specifically be truly innovative if the production of Santa Cruz has an extendable box that we see on the concept version. Likewise, if Korean cars continue to maintain excellent build quality and impressive value, a pickup truck can be a hit. However, the Hyundai 2021 Santa Cruz is still too far from getting into production for us to make bold predictions.

We know that the truck will look different from the concept of 2015, as the Hyundai design language has changed a lot over the last few years. We would expect a small truck to take some design cues from the new Hyundai Palisade while also having some unique new design details that should make this truck stand out for more than a small size.

The concept truck has an extended cab design, with a suicide-style back door. But we expect the production of Santa Cruz to have four doors facing forward. Cabin style trucks are those that sell today.

The possibility of a Hyundai pickup truck has existed since the Santa Cruz concept was revealed at the Auto Detroit 2015 event. But we finally had a confirmation that the company would build a truck with the same name at its factory in Alabama starting at 2021. Also, we know little about the upcoming pickups until further information is released.

Hyundai often prices its products under competitors, but this class of pickup trucks is more varied than other segments due to variable configurations. With that said, we thought Santa CRUZE could start in the Mid-$20000 range for a basic model with a front-wheel drive and the most powerful engine. That would make it a lot cheaper than comparable Honda ridgeline, which offers only one body style and powertrain.

The Hyundai Santa Fe medium Crossover was built in the same Alabama factory where the new Santa Cruz would be built, and two vehicles tend to share parts. Do they share almost identical chassis and parts like Honda Ridgeline and pilot do? Only time will tell.

The rumors are flying, and the most interesting for me is that it may be the proper body-on-frame 4 × 4 truck. While I find that very unlikely, I will keep my hands crossed. A right off-Road capable, durable, small pickup is something that the US truck market has lost for decades.

We know Santa Cruz will start production sometime at 2021, but we don’t know what the choice of the machine it will offer. As we expect the Hyundai pickups to share platforms and parts with a mid-size Santa Fe crossover, they can also share the engine and automatic gearbox with eight speeds.

2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz Engine

This includes the entry-level 185-HP 2.4-liter four-cylinder as well as the 235-HP turbocharged 2.0-liter four. However, we hope that Santa Cruz offers more power and torque than the engine that currently makes it better to compete with mid-size pickup rivals. We expect the front-wheel drive to be standard along with an optional all-wheel-drive system.

Hyundai bet big on this new little truck. It invested more than $410 million to expand the Montgomery assembly plant to build it. Santa Cruz will also need additional 200-person labor in the factory and create a projected 1,000 more recent jobs in the region. It sounds to me like Hyundai plans to sell a lot of Santa Cruz trucks!

The U.S. Intermediate Super-hot and the competitive truck market now, with Gladiators, Ranger, Tacoma, Colorado, Frontier, and Ridgeline. Hyundai hopes to find his niche by building a smaller, sporty, city-friendly truck.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz will be an interesting offer no matter how it turns out. We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one and find out what it’s all about.

2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz Specs

With the unibody construction and many unknown specifications, we do not know how many 2021 Santa Cruz will be able to tow or how much the charge will be able to carry in the cargo bed. However, we hope to be able to draw more of the Santa Fe and closely parallel to the ridgeline, which maxes at 5000 pounds.

Since we are in the dark at what would motivate the Santa Cruz powertrain and the EPA obviously haven’t released any estimates, it is difficult to speculate on the fuel economy. However, after the number came out and we had the opportunity to test one on our 200-mile highway route, we can determine the real world of mpg.

Hyundai hasn’t exhibited what the Santa Cruz cabin-concept or otherwise – would look like. In fact, we are still waiting to know if it will have an extended body style-a cab with a back door “Suicide” or a more traditional cabin crew with four doors hinging forward.

Since crew taxis are the most popular type of pickup trucks, we expect companies to employ the latter. Likewise, the concept of Santa Cruz has innovative cargo beds that can be extended as drawers to provide additional cargo volume and featuring a built-in slide-out Tonneau Cover as well as a myriad of tie-down hooks.

With its mission to attract younger shoppers with an active lifestyle, we expect that the 2021 Santa Cruz will offer a number of Infotainment features and the desired connectivity. That means the touch screen will be standard and includes a smartphone-friendly integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other potential options found in Hyundai products are mobile Hotspot, wireless charging, and Harman/Kardon sound systems.

2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz Safety

2021 Santa Cruz hasn’t been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or Insurance Agency for Highway Safety (IIHS). While Hyundai has not yet announced what technology-assistance drivers will be available, we expect mid-size pickup trucks to compete with competitors that offer everything from automatic emergency braking to the lane-keeping in the help.

2021 Santa Cruz price starts from $25,000
