2022 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Review

2022 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Review

2022 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Review – The Hyundai Tucson 2022 is a small SUV sold in six trim levels: SE, Value, SEL, Sport, Limited, and Ultimate. The SE comes to standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (161 horsepower, 150 lb-ft of torque). SEL, Sport, and Limited get a 2.4-liter engine (181 hp, 175 lb-ft). Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic.

There are so many small SUVs on sale today that it can be difficult to figure out which one will be the best for you. The Hyundai Tucson, for example, is easily overlooked compared to the like Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

But it is a viable alternative that gets high value for an excellent infotainment system, comfortable travel, and comfortable interior. the price is also thousands of dollars less than similarly equipped rivals, ensuring you can get a competitive small SUV at a low price.

The Tucson doesn’t have many drawbacks, though both engines are available less in terms of fuel economy and acceleration. Tucson’s cargo area is also slightly smaller than some of the broader options in the class. Look for improvements in the area on the redesigned Hyundai Tucson, which we expect to release next year.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson ranks among the compact SUV classes. The Tucson has user-friendly features, comfortable interiors, composed handling, and a predicted reliability rating above average, but poor engine performance and middling fuel economy hold it back.

The Hyundai Tucson 2022 is a good SUV. Tucson has a five-seat interior with nice contoured seats, an easy-to-use infotainment system, and many standard technologies and safety features.

Comfortable and relaxing to drive from day to day, and there is a decent amount of cargo space. Tucson also rates above average for predicted reliability and is backed by Hyundai’s 10-year powertrain warranty / 100,000 miles, so you can worry less about road repairs.

That said, engine performance is one of the few areas where Tucson could stand to improve. None of the four-cylinder engine options are highly muscular or fuel-efficient, although they are up to their daily driving duties.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Price

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson has a starting price of $23,700, which is lower than the average for a compact SUV class. The price rose to $32,050 for the Ultimate trim range-topping level.

Hyundai Tucson Vs Competition

Hyundai Tucson vs. Kia Sportage

The Kia Sportage has a lot in common with the Tucson. Both compact SUVs have the same size and price and are packed with many of the same technological and safety features. They also provide composed handling, comfortable travel, and the same long warranty coverage.

The Sportage emerged as a favorite though. It has better cabin material than the Tucson, as well as a choice of turbocharged zesty engines, something that Tucson could really benefit from. We recommend checking the Kia first.

Hyundai Tucson vs. Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a mid-sized SUV and is located just above Tucson in the brand’s lineup. The Santa Fe has five seats, a similar interior style, an equally good infotainment system, and around driving dynamic.

However, unlike Tucson, the Santa Fe offers the option of a brawnier turbocharged engine, a larger cargo area, and a higher tow rating. The trade-off is that Santa Fe has a higher starting price of $2,500. Choose Santa Fe if the extra practicality is worth it for you. Otherwise, Tucson is still a good choice.

Tucson Cargo Room

The Hyundai Tucson has 31 cubic feet of cargo space with an upright rear seat and 61.9 cubic feet with those seats folded. That’s somewhat below average for a compact SUV. Subaru Forester, Honda CR-V, and Volkswagen Tiguan offer the most cargo capacity in this class.

The Hyundai Tucson is a two-row SUV with five seats. The front seats are soft and supportive, and there are headroom and adequate legroom for most residents. The back seats are not very comfortable, but they are still spacious enough for two adults or three children to sit comfortably on a short trip.

The Tucson cabin dampens most of the road noise and wind, resulting in a discreet and relaxing ride. Outside visibility is both the front and side of the SUV, but the roof pillars limit visibility at the rear.

Manually adjustable upholstery and front seats are standard. Leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and heated steering wheels are available.

Tucson Seats and Children’s Cars

Tucson has two complete sets of LATCH connectors for rear outboard seats and anchor tethers for rear middle seats.

Tucson Interior Quality

Tucson takes some flak for plain interior style and lots of hard plastic. That said, the cabin feels well put together, and the overall material quality is on par with most competitors. It may not fascinate your passengers, but, for the price, it doesn’t disappoint.

Tucson Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The Hyundai Tucson received high praise for its infotainment system. The Tucson SE and Value trims come with a 7-inch touchscreen, while all other trims get an 8-inch touchscreen. The screen is mounted high on the dashboard and within range, making it easy to see and use while driving.

Both screens have simple menus and immediately respond to inputs. comes with additional buttons and knobs for audio and climate control as well, so you don’t have to rely on tapping the screen for each function. Better yet, popular features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard at all trim levels.

  • Standard infotainment features: 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB port, and six speakers;
  • Infotainment features available: 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, eight speakers, wireless device charging, and additional USB ports;
  • Additional standard features: remote keyless entry;
  • Other features available: keyless entry proximity, automatic double zone climate control, and sunroof panorama;

Hyundai Tucson Performance

Tucson engine

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is offered with two engine options: a 161-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a larger 181-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder. Six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard. All-wheel-drive available.

No machine is very inspiring. The basic 2.0-liter engine struggles to increase Tucson’s speed and provide a little passing power on the highway. The 2.4-liter engine, found in the SEL, Sport, Limited and Ultimate trims, delivers snappier acceleration around the city, but still feels out of breath at higher speeds. On the plus side, the six-speed transmission operates smoothly and provides fast and timely gear changes.

Tucson Gas Mileage

The Hyundai Tucson gets EPA-rated 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with a base engine of 2.0 liters. Models with a 2.4-liter engine got a slightly lower 22/28 mpg city/highway. Both rank below average for the compact SUV class.

Tucson Travel and Handling

The Hyundai Tucson is one of the most comfortable vehicles to drive in the class. The suspension does a great job of soaking bumps and dipping on the road while keeping the SUV stable and consisting of turns.

The steering feels light and direct, and Tucson is easy to park and weave through the city’s tight streets. It’s not very pleasant to drive like a Mazda CX-5 or Ford Escape, but it’s very polite for everyday travel.

Tucson Towing Capacity

The Hyundai Tucson can reach 2,000 pounds when equipped with its 2.4-liter engine. The Tucson model with a 2.0-liter engine is rated at 1,500 pounds.
