New 2023 Hyundai Elantra N Redesign

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Redesign

2023 Hyundai Elantra N – The Hyundai Elantra N is currently being developed alongside the new Elantra N TCR race car.

Elantra N Line reaches showrooms in December; Elantra N is likely to follow his older sibling for six months to a year.

We really hope this model will come in 2023 with all its advantages. Rumors regarding the full-fat N version of Hyundai’s new Elantra resurfaced back in March, and today we bring you the first batch of spy shots confirming the reports are valid.

The compact sedan received a warm N Line trim about two weeks ago, and it looks like the South Korean brand is already testing its upcoming range-topper on German roads.

Considering some obvious changes are behind, you could easily say this isn’t the old Elantra N Line prototype that still carries camouflage. Gone is the subtle lip spoiler on the trunk cover as it has to make way for a fixed rear wing that sticks out.

Additionally, the dual exhaust tips on the right side of the bumper have been replaced by a noticeably larger exhaust finisher positioned to the left and right to allow for a much more aggressive look.

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Performance

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra N U.S. market will also feature engineering solutions to improve driving capabilities and performance.

Dual compound front suspension insulators and trailing arm bushing prevent obstacles on one side of the vehicle from affecting the other side, keeping performance consistent over rough pavement.

The Elantra N is also the first Hyundai vehicle to feature an integrated driveshaft. The technology, derived from the World Rally Championship racecar, combines a front driveshaft, wheel hub, and pads to save 3.8 pounds of spinning weight and provide a more robust and sturdy driveline.

The N brand’s signature sharp throttle response – as we’ve experienced at Kona and Veloster – will carry over to Elantra thanks to a revised intake channel.

Hyundai engineers reduced pumping losses and slightly reduced overall weight by integrating air filters and inductions into one piece.

Meanwhile, a sturdy, specially shaped engine mount will improve the handling response by tying the powertrain and chassis tighter when cornering. And rack-mounted power steering pumps keep steering inputs consistent, even as handling loads increase.

The blackened front fascia also keeps the hot sedan away from its underpowered sibling, as do the 19-inch alloy wheels that wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Luggage-mounted wing spoilers, more comprehensive underbody covers, front lip spoilers, and rear diffusers improve aerodynamics and appearance.

Inside, the seating position of the N-only sports seat is lower by 10 millimeters, with a thinner profile that also adds to the rear seat space.

In addition to these functional and cosmetic updates, the Elantra N features some neat technology to add to the fun.

The N Sound Equalizer provides additional artificial engine sounds inspired by Hyundai Motorsports TCR race cars.

The automaker also includes customization capabilities that enhance three sound profiles: whimper, throat, and bass.

Hyundai Elantra N Chassis and Suspension

The chassis and suspension are fully worked out for the N. Hyundai’s task of integrating drive shafts, wheel hubs, and bearings into a single unit for a more robust and lighter driveline—the design is derived from the Elantra N TCR car.

Newer, stiffer buses are used throughout the suspension, and Hyundai says dual insulators on the front suspension helps with handling and NVH.

Extra boosters are used from front to back for better rigidity, and you’ll see one of the different handlebars painted red in the trunk. And, of course, Hyundai uses electronically controlled adaptive dampers to adjust your attenuation quickly.

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Safety

The Hyundai Elantra N will get a series of driver assistance systems. The big ones include blind-spot warnings (with the help of collision avoidance), rear traffic warnings (also with evasion assistance), forward collision avoidance, lane maintenance, following lanes (keeping the car in lane), and automatic high beams.

There will be no options or plans available. You select the transmission, choose your color, and leave.

Riding a set of 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot 4S rubber, the Elantra N differs from the basic Elantra and Elantra N Line with its unique front fascia and bumper-length lip spoiler for more aggressive horses. Side skirts further improve aero efficiency.

On the back, there is a specially designed wing spoiler and rear diffuser. Their combined presence helps control airflow and, we must admit, looks pretty good. Also, note the Formula 1-inspired inverted triangle reflector and the end of the double exhaust.

The full-color palette list isn’t available now, but the Elantra N debuted in two great colors, Hyundai’s signature Performance Blue and Shadow Grey. The sharp-looking red trim is found on the lip spoiler, side skirt, and rear bumper.

The general interior layout remains unchanged compared to the lower trim, but the Elantra N has some performance-specific features. Steering wheels with paddle shifts, seats, door panels and metal pedals are all unique.

There are reinforced seat pads to help you stay in place during lateral acceleration and rowing. N bucket seats whose seating position is slightly lower compared to standard seats are optional. The Seat is also thinner and allows for best-in-class rear-seat space.

A dedicated infotainment system with an N brand graphical interface is also new. Important information is shown here, including oil and cooling fluid temperatures and torque and turbo pressure.

The system also contains a lap timer while N Track Map software records location and movement on the track in real-time.

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Specs

While the Elantra N Line does with the 1.6 liters turbocharged inline-4, the Elantra N is almost certain to pack the 2.0 liter turbocharged inline-4 fitted to the Veloster N.

In hot hold, this engine delivers 250 horsepower and 260 pounds of torque. -feet in standard guise and 275 hp and 260 lb-ft with the available Performance Packages.

The Hyundai Elantra N will probably be equipped with the N-tuned 8-speed dual-clutch transmission in Veloster N for 2023. Hopefully, a 6-speed manual will be available for drivers who want that third pedal.

The Veloster N is equipped with red brake calipers on the front and rear axles. We get the feeling the car drives a lower smidge onto the road than competitors’ Jetta GLI Hyundai, so suggest tighter suspension setups for improved handling.

Although the front fascia remains largely hidden under camouflage, we noticed a change in the bumper as the air intake differs from the Elantra N Line. They seem quite small, but that’s probably because the camouflage hides the juicy bits.

The Elantra N prototype in our spy shot is equipped with bigger wheels, beefier brakes, and a fixed rear wing. The exhaust tips are also bigger and now flank the rear diffuser.

There are likely more racist mods in it, too, like the lightweight bucket seats, Alcantara trim, and N brand badging.

Hyundai N has a busy next year. It also works on the i20 N and Kona N models, the last of which we have to see in the United States.

The Sonata N Line and a dedicated N sports car are also coming, with the latter possibly coming on battery-electric power.

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Release Date

We will likely have to wait at least a few months for Hyundai to unveil the N variant for the Elantra N Line. If it comes to the United States, expect the feisty sedan to hit the market sometime next year as 2022 or 2023.

2023 Hyundai Elantra N Price

Hyundai has yet to announce a price but expects the Elantra N in showrooms soon, with prices starting at $30,000.
