New 2023 Hyundai RM20 N USA Review, Pricing

New 2023 Hyundai RM20 N USA Review, Pricing – The Chevrolet Corvette made a tectonic shift to the mid-engine design and now Hyundai is considering a halo sports car based on the RM19 prototype (Racing Midship 2019).

As mentioned in the rm19 drive, the RM program dates back to 2012, and Hyundai has been touting halo cars for the performance-oriented N brand for some time. We’ve also seen spy shots from car testing in Nurburgring-Nordschleife.

Hyundai has demonstrated about legitimate performance cars with the visceral Veloster N, the company seen making the leap from hot hatch to a mid-engine sports car with RM20 N 2023.

While the final product is still a few years away, and we have a lot left to learn, our brief encounter with the central engine prototype showed us that Korean carmakers don’t just blow tire smoke into our tails.

it will undoubtedly be more civic to drive and may develop less horsepower than the 390 horses claimed by the prototype, but it should boast an impressive power-to-weight ratio that can help its performance compete with mid-engine stars such as the Chevy C8 Corvette and Porsche 718 Cayman.

Although Hyundai has confirmed that it is developing a mid-engine sports car for production, we have very little concrete information about the final product. We hope the RM20 N will be a less extreme version of the RM19 concept car that debuted at the 2019 L.A. auto show. Hyundai has told us the production model is still a few years away.

2023 Hyundai RM20 N Price

While the latter might make better business sense, we think it’s likely the mid-engine sports car will sell as a $40,000 Hyundai rather than the $70,000 Genesis. That would put the RM20 N in the price range and league itself, which would reduce the inevitable scrutiny that comes with directly challenging the Corvettes and Porsche worlds.

2023 Hyundai RM20 N Engine

One of the few things we can say for sure about Hyundai’s upcoming sports car is that the engine will be installed in the middle of the car. In addition, we can only use our latest combination of speculation and experience with the RM19 prototype middle engine to discuss the powertrain’s potential and performance.

While the car we drive is based on the production front-wheel-drive Veloster, it features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that sits on the rear axle and produces a substantial 390 horsepower.

It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission to move the rear wheel rather than the front. We hope the RM20 N production will have fewer horses to help make it easier to control.

The mid-engined Hyundai will have about 325 to 350 horsepower and will route it through an eight-speed double-clutch automatic. Combining light pavement weight and rm20 N can provide phenomenal driving experience and performance that even rivals pricier mid-engine alternatives such as Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster.

While it can take inspiration from the current Veloster, we expect the Korean company to make the inside of the RM20 N unique. This will likely be two seats with average passenger space. As long as the cabin is easier to see and less crowded than Supra, we have to be satisfied.

Hyundai must have a number of standard and optional features that can include the ambient interior lighting, head-up screens, heated and ventilated seats, wireless charging, and more. We didn’t expect the mid-engine sports car to be very cottonicious, but it should have some handy cubby storage and a small trunk under the hood that would hold a suitcase or two or two.

The RM20 N will likely have a standard touchscreen infotainment system loaded with the desired features. We hope Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be included in every model. While Hyundai systems benefit from physical buttons and knobs, their interface is generally generic.

However, if the mid-engine sports car is meant to compete with alternatives such as the Supra and Cayman, it will probably offer a powerful premium audio system and other high-end options.

Hyundai RM20 N Safety

RM20 N 2023 has clearly not been tested for congestion by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Road Safety (IIHS). Although the Veloster N regularly avoids all common driver assistance technologies, the middle engine model may be available with some additional equipment such as adaptive cruise control and parking sensors.
