2021 Hyundai Nexo USA Range, MPG, Model
2021 Hyundai Nexo USA Range, MPG, Model – 2021 Hyundai Nexo is the only hydrogen fuel cell crossover sold in the United States. However, sales are limited to California, the only country with a network of hydrogen fueling stations. The Nexo is priced and sized to compete directly with the hydrogen-fueled version of Honda’s Clarity and Toyota Mirai, the sedan. With the obvious advantages of Hyundai in cargo versus both capacities, it is likely the most rational choice in three classes.
There are no factory options at 2021 Nexo. The main difference between the two trims is that the Limited offers more luxury, including a hands-free power liftgate, extra-large sunroof, ventilated seat, a heated steering wheel, Hyundai blind-spot viewing monitor, 360-degree camera, remote parking features, and an upgraded audio system Krell. In our view, this facility allows an additional fee for Limited.

2021 Hyundai Nexo Specs
Hyundai Nexo’s 95-kW fuel cell stack and 40-kWh Power Pack electric motor Battery is rated at 161 horsepower with 291 lb-ft torque. The Motor drives the front wheels through a single-speed gearbox; ALL-wheel drives not available. In our testing, Nexo delivered Zero-to-60-mph results of 8.4 seconds. Faster than Mirai, but a little slower than the clarity of fuel cells.
This acceleration number also puts Hyundai gradually triggered with a conventional, compact, gasoline-powered crossover. As with the brother’s fuel cell, the Nexo is actually not thrilling to drive. However, electrically assisted steering is tuned — on the side of the lamp but with a steady impression. And in our tests, the Nexo stops from 70 mph at 169 feet, which is much better than hydrogen-fueled clarity or Mirai.
The roaming range varies by Trim, and the Nexo Blue base has an approximate range of 380 miles. With additional equipment and a 19-inch wheel (versus Blue 17S), the heavier the Limited has a lower range of 354 miles.
The MPGe EPA rating is also slightly different between the two Nexo trims. The Blue has a combined rating of 61 MPGe (65 cities/58 highways), while Nexo Limited is rated at 57 MPGe (59 Cities/54 highways). Once you find the hydrogen station, the refueling takes about five minutes. Anyone who buys or rents 2021 Nexo receives a free hydrogen fuel for the first three years or $13,000 worth of fuel.
2021 Hyundai Nexo Interior
The interior space in a five-seater 2021 Hyundai Nexo is equivalent to other small crossovers. The adult will fit comfortably in front or in the back seat. There is a useful 30 cubic foot space cargo behind a rear seat, and a rear seat folding the net flat 57 cubic feet, which is close to what Hyundai Tucson has to offer.
Otherwise, the Nexo Bear Cabin is a little resemblance to the rest of the Hyundai lineup with its two-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument Panel, and Push-Button Transmission control. The front seat offers only basic power adjustments but is layered in vinyl. Overall, it’s a fun, cool place, especially with the sunroof bigger than limited.
The 12.3-inch touchscreen Infotainment interface is standard on Nexo, and it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additional connected features are available with the Hyundai Bluelink application, which offers the start of a remote machine (with a heating seat or pre-cooling) and a hydrogen fuel station Locator. Blue links are free for the first three years. There are two USB charging ports (although only one that supports data transfer) and wireless smartphone charging pads.
2021 Hyundai Nexo Safety
Although the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to release an accident rating test at Hyundai Nexo, the highway safety insurance body has named its Top Safety Pick +. The Suite of driver assistance features is standard at every Nexo 2021 and includes a forward collision avoidance system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, cross-border alerts, Fixed-line assistance, and adaptive cruise control.
