New 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Specs – The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid 2021 bends and features a solar roof to make the Smidge hybrid powertrain more efficient. The brand estimating the solar roof will help extend the Driving Range about 808 miles per year. While it’s a big picture, it comes down to about 2.2 miles per day.

When Hyundai introduced the Turbo Sonata at home in South Korea in late March, the stylish sedan was presented with a Hybrid Sonata at the 2019 Seoul Motor Show.

Now, the whole world will learn about the electric version and part of the solar roof party. The newly developed system makes its debut and charges the battery to offer an additional 808 miles (1,300 kilometers) of travel distances annually, provided it is charged for six hours a day.

This is not the only feature that separates hybrids from conventional powered Sonata as it also boasts of what refers to the car as an Active Shift Control. ASC made its debut in Hyundai and its job is to “Apply new control logic software ” to a hybrid control unit.

The latter is then assigned to align the rotation speed of the engine and transmission, resulting in a reduction in tooth shift by 30%. Consequently, this improves performance, but also improves fuel economy and increases endurance since friction during reduced gear shifting compared to conventional setups.

The latest Hybrid Sonata will also not follow the CVT trend, although other Hyundai models are diting traditional automatic transmissions. Instead, the Frugal sedan will be sporting a 6-speed automatic transmission complete with what Hyundai called “Active Shift Control. “ASC is intended to provide a more attractive experience for drivers and improve fuel economy.

The system includes new control logic software for hybrid control units to accelerate gear shifting by 30 percent, per brand. Larger syncing between transmissions, engines, and electric motors should also help to make 6-Speed automatically more durable. Hyundai added ASC minimizes friction.

Beyond the two new main systems, a Hybrid Sonata train that combines a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine and an electric motor. Together, they made 192 horsepower. Hyundai does not provide estimates of economic fuel for U.S. sedan.

The internal combustion engine is a four-cylinder 2.0-liter petrol unit of the “Smartstream ” Family producing 150 horsepower (112 kW) and 188 Newton-meter (139 pound-feet) of torque. As for electric motors, it was good for 51 HP (38 kW) and 250 Nm (151 lb-ft). Combining ice with electric motors resulted in a Total 192 HP output channeled to the wheels through a six-speed hybrid automatic transmission.

According to Hyundai, the saving Sonata Hybrid has a combined fuel economy of 20.1 kilometers per liter, which works out to 4.97 liters/100 km or equivalent to 47.3 miles per gallon when the car runs on 16-inch wheels. Selecting a larger 17-Inch set and fuel economy drops slightly to 19.1 km/L or (5.23 liters/100 km or 45 mpg).

More Sonata derivatives are in the pipeline as the spicy N Line model has already been announced and will have more than 275 horsepower. Also, Hyundai has promised a few “dramatically different variants,” for the eighth-generation sedan, so the new Sonata has a future that pulls forward.

The hybrid Model takes most of the same design elements from the standard sedan, although there is some touch eco. The Cascading Grille features separate patterns from the Sonatas standard, different rear Spoiler sitting in the back, and the unique alloy wheels help with aerodynamics.

Companies are not talking about any particular features, but digital key companies will be incorporated, allowing owners to use their smartphones to unlock cars.

Hyundai does not provide information about the launch of the car or when we will see it in the US, but all the eyes will be on the previous model of fuel economy number.

    The grille on the 2020 Sonata Hybrid is so much better than that of the standard ICE model with its downturn corners at the front. The ‘old-man’ look is depressing. Note the cheerful look of the simplified grille of the Hybrid.

  2. Lets hope you don’t forget the “fog lights” like you did in the standard version; they are what many consumers consider supplemental safety equipment. They would have made the standard model look so more appealing (fogs in the lower front facia). You all made a big mistake by eliminating them and not even offering a dealer install. Please! Please don’t make that critical error in the Hybrid or the N-Line.
