New 2021 Hyundai Kona EV Electric Price

New 2021 Hyundai Kona EV Electric Price – The Hyundai Kona Electric remains my favorite of all-electric vehicles. For the 2021 year model, Hyundai is good enough to update it with new features. However, not much has changed from the original formula, and it was good for me.

After all, why mess up a good thing? We featured Kona Electric in our virtual fight against Tesla Model 3 a few months ago, and it was a lot going on for that though the Tesla was more athletic, faster — and in much-cooler eyes than the simple Kona.

To keep Kona EV fresh in the eyes and hearts of potential buyers, Hyundai offers greater Infotainment and screen navigation. You now have a 10.25-inch real estate versus a fuss-out model eight inches display, but the base model still gets a standard seven-inch touch screen. And that’s basically. No, I’m not kidding.

The only change in the outback is the larger floating screen along with softer materials in the central console, notably the HVAC control system. Despite this small change, you still get the association of standard Technology features that match the modern electric cars. This includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4G LTE connectivity, and SiriusXM.

You also get a seven-inch LCD Gauge cluster, an electric driver seat, lock proximity, and a heated leather seat. If you want to feel like you are in a fighter jet, an available eight-inch head-up screen will fulfill your wishes. Pressing a button on the steering wheel activates the screen while ascending from the dashboard. Pressing the button again will squeeze the screen to the dashboard for a cleaner look.

According to Hyundai, this system helps minimize battery power loss during cold weather. Also, this helps cut the charging time during the winter. This new feature is only standard on limited and higher trims.

Hyundai Kona EV Specs

As we snitch the Hyundai Kona EV against Tesla Model 3 for our virtual showdown, we liked how Hyundai peddled the first all-electric crossover at a lower price point. Kona is essentially a five-seat crossover, so it has a lot going for it considering American shoppers have a craze to ride higher SUVs. Kona Electric offers 19.2 cubic feet of the rear cargo volume as normal Kona.

We also like how Hyundai maintains the same basic prescription for efficient propulsion. Kona EV still receives one 150 kW permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. It generates 210 horsepower and 291 lb-ft. of torque, all of which are fed to the front wheels. It is enough for zero to 60 mph time 7.6 seconds.

Of course, the rate of the speed is minced meat compared to the Tesla Model 3. The Standard Range Plus has a single electric motor. But instead of driving the front wheels, the basic Model 3 is the rear-wheel drive. It scoots to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and reaches a range of 240 miles.

Hyundai Kona EV Electric Performances

You see, the Tesla Model 3 is superior to all of the EVs in terms of performance; There is no doubt about it. However, if you consider the base price, Model 3 is left behind in the overall range, which is something to consider if you spend close to the $39,000 (before the incentive) for a new electric vehicle.

The Hyundai Kona Electric may be down in power and agility, but it makes up for it in its range. It still has a high voltage, 64 kWh liquid-cooled Lithium-ion Battery Pack. It’s good enough to approximate 258 miles of the range.

Although the Model 3 is equipped with a fast-charging DC and a standard 32-amp onboard charger, Kona EV also comes with a level-III fast charging Port to charge the battery from zero to 80 percent at 100 kW. Also, Kona also comes with a 7.2 kW level-II charger, it is good enough to fully juice up the battery in about nine hours.

Using Hyundai with the Blue link app, owners can access real-time data and monitor vehicle settings using a compatible smartphone or tablet. You can start the car, lock the door, or look for a remote direction so everything is ready when you enter the Kona EV.

The Blue link app lets you manage your charging schedule, which is handy. For example, you can program an application to only fill your Kona EV during off-Peak hours. This unique feature also displays the current battery level, charging status, and offers vehicle diagnostics on your smartphone.

The Hyundai Kona Electric 2021 also has a standard with advanced collision avoidance assistance. However, additional features such as helping maintain lanes, high beam assistance, and driver attention warnings are optional. No, you do not get an autopilot or an autonomous driving similarity in Kona EV. Then again, this also means fewer things will be wrong in the long run.

Unfortunately, Hyundai Kona EV may still not make it to most of the US states. According to Hyundai, the first shipments are expected to start early next year in California and countries that focus on other ZEV in the western and northeast regions of the US market. And while Hyundai remains mum on price and other relevant Info, we suspect 2021 models to stay under $30,000 after credit tax.
