2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Small Pickup Truck Redesign

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Small Pickup Truck Redesign

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz – Expected to be based on the redesigned 2023 Hyundai Tucson, the Santa Cruz will have unibody constructions such as the Honda Ridgeline mid-size pickup, which is based on the Honda Pilot. It will be built in Hyundai Montgomery, Alabama, a joint plant of Santa Fe and Tuscon crossover SUVs and Elantra and Sonata sedans.

Other details of Santa Cruz have been scanned, though we don’t yet know when it came. Based on spy shots posted by several sites, it looks smaller than the Ridgeline, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, and Chevy Colorado, and GMC Canyon.

The 2023 Santa Cruz will be built at Hyundai’s plant in Montgomery, Alabama, where Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe sped along. Santa Cruz is expected to share the base with Tucson 2022, which means we’re looking at unibody construction like a car.

Honda is doing the same for its Ridgeline pickups associated with the Pilot crossover SUV, and Ford has also pledged to launch small pickup-based cars.

Now that Hyundai has crossovers and SUVs for everyone to seem, it’s ready to enter a pickup truck war with Santa Cruz 2023. Despite the concept that debuted a few years ago and the company’s recent promise to build it, we don’t know much about the first Hyundai with a cargo bed.

That feature in particular could be really innovative if the Santa Cruz production actually had an extendable box that we saw on the concept version. Likewise, if Korean car manufacturers continue to maintain excellent build quality and impressive value, pickup trucks could be a hit. However, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is still too far from production for us to make bold predictions.

Hyundai added that Santa Cruz will join in the next 15 months with the latest versions of the Tucson, Santa Fe, and Kona crossover SUVs, as well as the new Ioniq SUV. Hyundai Ioniq’s compact hatchback can have as a hybrid vehicle, plug-in hybrid, or full electric battery.

In addition to the new dedicated platform for the Ioniq SUV, Hyundai is thrilling the 2022 Tucson with a hybrid that is expected to get about 37 mpg combined and a plug-in hybrid version Hyundai says will get 28 miles of electric range. Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape compact crossovers are offered in hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.

as Hyundai said in its Santa Cruz concept disclosure that the vehicle was not an alternative to traditional pickup trucks, as it did not prioritize towing, loading, or ground clearance.

Instead, Hyundai says it wants to appeal to crossover buyers who want an extra-bed utility without having to choose a truck. Hyundai even called Santa Cruz’s upcoming production a “crossover.”

Hyundai will spend $410 million in upgrades at its Alabama plant to support Santa Cruz and add 200 direct jobs in the process. suppliers and logistics companies are expected to add a further 1,000 jobs in the region.

Hyundai Santa Cruz Concept

some aspects of the Santa Cruz concept that likely won’t see production are its powertrains. The concept’s 2.0-liter turbodiesel is likely to be saved due to the fall in emissions scandals that followed the 2015 disclosures. Its possible diesel will be offered in other markets, as Hyundai did with the Santa Fe, though the automaker has remained quiet on Santa Cruz sales outside the U.S.

Expect a naturally envisioned engine option and turbo-4 along with the possibility of a hybrid powertrain or plug-in hybrid at some point, as found in Tucson 2022.

Hyundai has seen its sales slide in the U.S. since a high of 768,057 units in 2016 due to its sedan-heavy lineup and lack of pickups. The number of tally in 2019 was 688,771 units. Automakers are turning the ship around with new additions such as the Kona crossover, Palisade and Venue, and now the Santa Cruz pickup.

Hyundai Santa Cruz Price

Hyundai often prices its products below competitors, but the class of pickup trucks is more varied than other segments due to configuration variables. With that in mind, we thought the Santa Cruze could start in the mid-$20,000 range for a base model with front-wheel drive and the least powerful engine. can make it much cheaper than a comparable Honda Ridgeline, which offers only one body style and powertrain.

2023 Santa Cruz Engine

We Expect Santa Cruz will start production in 2022, but we don’t know what machine options it will offer. Since we expect Hyundai pickups to share platforms and spare parts with mid-size Santa Fe crossovers, both can also share eight-speed automatic engines and gearboxes.

These include the 185-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder as well as the 235-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four. However, we expect Santa Cruz to offer more power and torque than any of the engines that currently make it better to compete with mid-size pickup rivals. We hope a front-wheel-drive will become standard along with an optional all-wheel-drive system.

Hyundai Santa Cruz Towing Capacity

With unibody construction and many unknown specifications, we don’t know how much Santa Cruz 2023 will be able to tow or how much cargo it will be able to carry in its cargo bed. However, we hope it will be able to attract more than the Santa Fe and is very much in tune with a ridgeline, which is a maximum of £5000.

Hyundai hasn’t yet shown off what the Santa Cruz cabin—concept or other—will look like. In fact, we’re still waiting to find out if it will have an extended cabin body style with a rear-hinged “suicide” door or a more traditional crew cab with four hinged doors ahead.

Since crew taxis are the most popular type of pickup truck, we expect the company to hire the latter. Likewise, the Santa Cruz concept has innovative cargo beds that can be extended like drawers to provide extra cargo volume and feature built-in slide-out tonneau covers as well as a myriad of tie-down hooks.

With its mission to appeal to younger buyers with an active lifestyle, we hope Santa Cruz 2023 will offer a number of desired infotainment and connectivity features.

That means touch screens will become standard and include smartphone-friendly integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other potential options found in Hyundai products are mobile hotspots, wireless charging, and Harman/Kardon sound systems.

Santa Cruz Driver Safety

The Santa Cruz 2023 has not been tested for collisions by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). While Hyundai has not yet announced what driver assistance technology will be available, we expect mid-size pickup trucks to compete with competitors offering everything from automatic emergency braking to lane sweep assistance.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Release Date

Hyundai also said more crossover SUVs will go the other way with the N. Santa Cruz performance model able to get electrified and reinforced with the N-line model. More details will be available near the 2022 rollout for the 2023 model.
