The Hyundai Elantra, known as the Avante in Korea, is subject to a revolutionary touch of renewal.
It was adhering to the latest design direction while keeping all its technological improvements. But that’s not all, it also presents a high-performance version for the first time.

Certainly not limited to style like the N Line, this short version is equipped with all the overall performance-enhancing devices.
The engine, chassis controls, driving features, and more are made to come into play in the realm of compact-sized fast cars. Conveniently, the brilliant formula of the i30 N is applied to the body of the Elantra sedan.

With a turbo 2.0-liter engine with a turbine and large air ducts. It can burst power up to 280 PS while twisting the wheels as strong as 392 Nm.
The notoriously deft 8-speed DCT transmission carries delivery to the front axle. But more than that, the N Grin Shift feature allows adding power up to 290 PS for a while by adding boost pressure.
This arrangement permitted the Elantra N to take only 5.3 seconds to reach 100 kph and continue running up to 250 kph.
The ability to sculpt bends and the creator of smiles is not forgotten. It includes the N Corner Carving Differential (electronic Limited Slip Differential), a variable exhaust valve system in place of exhaust singing tones, and Launch Control.
If you want more driving authority, there is a manual transmission option. It’s just that it doesn’t feature N Grin Shift, N Power Shift, and N Track Sense Shift as transmission performance optimization tools as standard in the DCT version.
First, the Elantra N adopted the Integrated Drive Axle (IDA) at Hyundai. It combines axles, hubs, and bearings into one fundamental component.
The advantage is a weight reduction of 1.7 kg. It may sound less significant, but this composition makes the Legs of the Elantra stronger against extreme lateral forces.
Its capabilities are complemented by braking technology that ensures the best possible power. Not to mention the increased rigidity of the reinforcing structures on the front and rear axles.
So even the performance contestants did not make Elantra N forget the comfort factor. Again for the first time, a front shock absorber mount is attached along with a dual compound rear bushing to reduce noise and vibration levels of Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH).
Elantra N voices the sporty character typical of the N division. The airflow is then exploited through the trunk wing and diffuser. Meanwhile, aggressive visuals are emitted via red accents around the bottom side of the body.
The racer-style feel of the circuit is continued to the cabin without diluting its essence as a four-door saloon. Passenger accommodation is not minimized, but various extra devices are embedded as ‘toys’ for competitive-spirited drivers.
Examples of infotainment systems that can display oil and cooling temperatures, turbo pressure and torque figures, to lap timers that record the location and movement of the vehicle.
For your information, the arrangement is not just a bench to patent body movement. The court’s position drops to 10 mm, and the bearings are 50 mm more profound so that the center of gravity becomes lower and increases legroom in the back.
Then the excitement of driving is strengthened by the presence of N Sound Equalizer. The sound of a virtual machine from the speakers arouses the ears and adrenaline.
It can make a sound from a Hyundai Motorsport vehicle like the furious tone of a TCR race car. Alternatively, the sound can be adjusted in such a way through an equalizer to add detail to the machine’s built-in whine, throat, and bass sounds.
The Hyundai Elantra N is being prepared for the United States market. Also, present in South Korea, as Avante N. Mentioned, there are no plans to pave in Europe and other markets yet.
