2024 Hyundai Santa Fe MX5: Looks Bigger And Stronger

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe MX5

The 5th generation Hyundai Santa Fe is known internally as the MX5, which will be released earlier than the original schedule.

The New Santa Fe will be wholly overhauled compared to the current generation due to the look at its boxy shape, which looks like the latest Land Rover Defender.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe MX5 has been spotted in prototype form, revealing evidence of a larger body structure than before and some new-looking H-themed headlights.

The new model will feature a new design language, not only for signage but also for the Hyundai brand.

Indications indicate a plate-like stature, with a long, flat roofline and an upright greenhouse, a bit like the current Land Rover Defender.

This will shift away from the curved design theme applied to the current model. Perhaps most importantly, the new model is much larger than the current version.

That would be important as the current model is only 35mm wider and 45mm taller than the latest Tucson. The wheelbase is only 10mm longer, which is not much.

This would be a little strange since the Palisade already occupies the upper end of the large SUV segment.

However, Santa Fe will likely focus more on practicality and utilitarian duties, while the Palisade is considered a luxury item.

Several speculative renders have emerged online that could give us an idea of Santa Fe’s new design direction.

Hyundai’s fourth-generation SUV sold 57,578 units last year, while the All-New Kia Sorento sold 76,883. That’s less than, for example, 64,791 palisade units which cost much more than the Santa Fe.

The model with much less concept, the Renault Samsung QM6, recorded 46 740 units. So looking at these figures, Hyundai models are entirely defeated.

But a problem for Santa Fe, even within Hyundai itself, is the recently released Tucson, which has grown to just 1 cm smaller than Santa Fe, thanks to its LWB sold in South Korea or the US.

It also has a Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid variant. At the same time, Hyundai is still not available The Santa Fe HEV/PHEV in South Korea.

It was also confirmed that the next-generation Santa Fe would grow from a semi-large SUV to a large SUV.

The powertrain option is set to combine a 1.6-liter turbo-petrol hybrid and plug-in hybrid, with the current model still not offered with electrification.

Although its sister car, the Kia Sorento, is presented in hybrid and plug-in hybrid forms, even in Australia.
