New Hyundai Grand Starex 2021 Release Date
New Hyundai Grand Starex 2021 Release Date – The Hyundai Grand Starex is not exactly new here in the Philippines as even before its official initial release way back in 2007, there is a healthy market for a surplus of Starex units that are sold in the 2nd-hand car market. And despite having rivals like Nissan Urvan and Toyota HiAce, Hyundai Starex has been holding an awesome land for quite some time now.
This early generation Starex unit is very popular because there are up to today’s abundance of spare parts and easy to work on. In addition, these 2 hand-surplus Starex vehicles are very cheap and do not want to be affordable seven-seater. Some are even sold in gray markets but regardless, this has been helpful in strengthening the Hyundai Van’s popularity in the country for a short while.
During its official release in the country in December 2007, Van’s vehicle changed its name to Grand Starex and became one of the best-selling vans here in the Philippines. Perhaps in 2021, Hyundai will give a Grand Starex facelift with some improvements done on its interior.
With a facelift, the 2021 Hyundai Grand Starex exterior gains a more snub shape that comes with a pair of very bright halogen lamps and also fog lights embedded in the bumper. A chrome-coated grid also now stands more than ever.
2021 Hyundai Grand Starex Specs
Towards the sides, one might notice that the wheels are now larger at 17 inches and their design now feels much more modern than the previous one. Hyundai also made efforts to align the handles of the rear doors and front doors as this has disrupted some of our more detailed-oriented compatriots.
For the rear, the Grand Starex GLS updated practically visible and the same function as the previous model. This is not a problem though as the back part says Van is still visible and functioning properly.
One complained of us however is that Hyundai missed the opportunity to give the Hyundai Grand Starex GLS LED lights instead of aging and the type of halogen light.
Unfortunately, the Grand Starex GLS updated still has a creamy color theme which many other car models and car manufacturers have done far by supporting darker colors. If not, this is covered with such a cloth, they are soft to the touch and without the ordinary plastic clumsy. There is a plastic part, but this, in fact, is well equipped and doesn’t look cheap at all.
For the chair, the GLS trim is covered in light-colored skin which is bad news especially if you have a little Tykes on-board. However, because it is made of leather, it will certainly be easier to clean than running a factory-covered chair cloth. We are not so sure about the cloth-covered panels though.
As for the 2021 Hyundai Grand Starex Interior, legroom, headroom and the overall cabin room is very large. Likewise applies to the cargo in the back.
According to this configuration, Hyundai Grand Starex has four, the captain’s seat which is very convenient for the 2nd row and with a bench-type seat for the last line. All in all, made Van Hyundai can provide seats for 10 people with a central seat deployed among the captain’s seat.
What is also remarkable with this chair is its ability to be highly customizable. The captain’s chair can even be swiveled around to face a third-row tenant and the third-row seat bench itself can be further supported or carried forward further.
With the captain’s line seat turned and adjusted forward fully coupled with the third line is also brought backward towards the back door, you can make a room type lounge which is just large.
In terms of comfort, Hyundai Grand Starex, air ventilation for AC mounted in the interior ceiling and well distributed to provide good air conditioning coverage. The rear air conditioning has its own control that displays advertisements for greater comfort for Grand Starex passengers.
The weak point of the Hyundai Grand Starex Interior is the 7-inch entertainment system that laggy and apparently run by an old OS. It does have AM/FM radio, CD player, USB, and AUX Port.
All in all, Hyundai Grand Starex is a very convenient space to be in for both passengers and drivers and not to mention the massive cargo space if the three-row seats are adjusted forward to the maximum.

2021 Hyundai Grand Starex Engine
The 2021 Hyundai Grand Starex GLS currently has three options for the engine. First is the 2.5-liter TCI that can make up to 99 horsepower and 226 Nm torque, the second is a 2.5 liter CRDi VGT diesel engine rated at 168 horsepower and 392 Nm torque, and finally the Euro 6 compliant 2.5 liter CRDi VGT which can make 173 horsepower and 4 51 Nm torque.
For the Hyundai Grand Starex 2021, there is a 5-speed guide. For the higher Trim variant with the CRDi VGT engine, it is equipped with an H-Matic 5-speed automatic transmission. Power is then sent to the rear wheel.
The GLS Model comes with a 5-link spring Coil for the rear suspension and MacPherson with Coil Springs for the front. All in all, this can take the ordinary Metro Manila lump politely and provide the Van with a steady ride.
Also worth noting is the feeling of steering that somehow provides decent feedback for drivers. This is a blessing of course for this Hyundai power steering Grand Starex GLS. As such, the Starex GLS despite its size still handles somewhat reasonably well.
If not, you want to note that you usually don’t buy vehicles like the Hyundai Grand Starex GLS to enjoy driving, but rather it is the vehicle you buy to be pushed around. But it’s entirely up to you in the end.
When it comes to security, the Hyundai Starex GLS has airbags for front passenger and driver, anti-lock braking system, EBD, stability control, crash sensors, and reverse parking sensors. For brakes, large Grand Starex GLS has enough power stops thanks to the 16-inch disc brakes.
Hyundai Grand Starex includes a facelifted GLS model nowadays is a very versatile vehicle that can perform many of the transport roles quite well. In addition to being comfortable, remotely capable family vehicles, the Grand Starex GLS may also fulfill the role of commercial passenger vehicles or even cargo vehicles.
