2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Facelift, Redesign – The Hyundai Santa Fe 2021 finally found a niche. It drifted between a compact and medium Crossover SUV niche over the years. With the latest Santa Fe, Hyundai has put 2021 Santa Fe right in the mid-size category, as it makes its way for the three-line Palisade and the smaller Tucson.
Fresh from last year’s design of the model, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe brings into the new year model without significant changes. But it was just good with us. This latest generation of Santa Fe has an enhanced cab look and feel. And, like the custom Hyundai, it comes loaded with standard features, many of which come with an additional cost to its competitors.

On the downside, the quiet and airy cabins fall a bit short in the overall cargo capacity. We are also not moved by the Santa Fe base machine. It will do the job around the city and have enough passing power for the freeway. But when you need to call all the Santa Fe reserves, you have to firmly and lie on the pedals. There is an optional, more powerful Turbo engine, but that requires jumping several levels of Trim – and a few thousand bucks – to get it.
But overall, Santa Fe does a very good job of balancing the priorities of the most compact SUV. The interior is spacious, the ride is comfortable, and there is enough technology for everyone to stay connected. If you need something bigger, consider a three-line SUV like Hyundai Palisade or KIA Telluride related. We recommend most shoppers consider Trim CELLS. Fixed CELLS have reasonable admission rates, but still offer surprising comfort and comfort features, such as heated seats, enhanced touch screens, and Driver Tools (blind-spot monitoring, safe exit assistance). Compared with the next level Trim is limited, the CELL does not lose much. Nevertheless, you can add two powerful option packages to the CELLS if they are so sloped.
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Models
Santa Fe 2021 is a five-passenger crossover available in three levels of Trim: SE, SEL and Limited. SE comes loaded with features ranging from essential to use, including stain-resistant upholstery fabric, reduced windshield noise, lying back seat, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and AIDS drivers like automatic Emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beam.
The Santa Fe 2021 has awesome matches and finishes in its top version, competitive performance and styling, and excellent security rankings. All come without compromising the trademark value. We gave 6.7 out of 10.
Santa Fe 2021 brings more than with the minimal package and shuffle option, but strangely enough, some of the active safety features that are desirable such as cross-traffic back alert and automatic rear braking are no longer standard; Now they are limited to Trim CELLS and above.
Compared to the outgoing model (a long-wheelbase version that is still around as a Santa Fe XL), the new Santa Fe is sharper and more upscale. Borrowing a two-level light system from the rest of the lineup, it is altogether more boxy, more upright, and looks louder than its predecessor. The interiors are of high quality, with contrasting stitches, handy storage cubbies, and delicate materials.
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Engine
A 2.4-liter inline-4 comes standard and is quite motivating an almost 3,600-pound Santa Fe with 185 horsepower, but the optional 2.0-liter turbo-4 is much more suited to the task. 8-speed automatic transmission provides seamless (if slow) shifting, and optional all-wheel drive can have for $1,700 while the front wheels are a standard mover.
Thanks to a three-inch-longer wheelbase than the older five-seater model, the Santa Fe is suitable for all the comfortable occupants with plenty of cargo space behind the back seat and the entire cubbies storage.
Hyundai’s trademark value is present here as well, with its 17-inch rim, the 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and automatic emergency braking all standard for around $25,000 on the SE base model.
The latest Santa Fe received a five-star rating test accident from the federal government last year, as well as the TOP Safety Pick + Award from IIHS.

The interiors are high quality and relatively curved, with a spacious dashboard that wraps around both the driver and the passengers separately. A 7.0-inch Infotainment screen (8.0-inch on a high-priced model) is standard and sits in front-and-center, while climate control is easy to access and clear to read.
The 2021 base of the Hyundai Santa Fe has an uninspiring powertrain, while the Turbo-4 does a better job of raising enthusiasm. It is also blessed with a clay journey, no matter which model is chosen. Based on a more popular version with a low output engine, we provide 6 out of 10 for performance.
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Specs
Santa Fe comes standard with 2.4 liters inline-4 which makes 185 horsepower. While it is certainly not fast, this simple machine is enough to get the Santa Fe moving. A 2.0-liter turbo-4 is available and makes 50 additional ponies for a total of 235 HP and is far superior to the base engine. The front-wheel-drive is standard and all-wheel drives are optional at any trim level. An 8-Speed automatic is the only gearbox option; It shifts with a relaxing response, even when it be toggled be a more sporty fashion.
Santa Fe Favors in the course of quality, however, with optional self-leveling rear air suspension for tranquil rides and more confident traction abilities. Handling is well managed if not attractive, and the steering is lightweight for everyday use.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe gained a few inches long with a redesign last year, and the results are worth celebrating. We give 8 out of 10 in this category because it easily seats five adults, and has a cargo chamber for double as an MPV when needed.
In the last generation, Santa Fe comes in both a short wheelbase, 5 passengers “Sport ” and a 7-passenger standard form. The former was lost while the latter had been superseded by the new Palisade 2020. Santa Fe is now only 5 passengers. Understand? Good.
Fortunately, an additional 2.8 inches in length and 2.6 inches between the axles makes for more passengers and space cargo, with more than 40 inches of legroom for the rear occupants.
The front seats are comfortable even if the ingredients feel a bit thin and the pads are enough. Hyundai offers Power liftgate, and with 36 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat, the area is large and easily accessible. That figure balloons for the 71 cubes with the rear seat folded flat, and with a lot of the entire cubbies storage, Santa Fe is a lot of practice for the family.
Quality materials are generally top-notch in the range, including contrast stitches, high-quality Trim pieces, and good build quality, although some cut-rate materials are present.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe received a good crash-test score and included automatic braking as standard. Unfortunately, while Hyundai has added an optional safety feature for this year, it was taken away some of its standards on the 2019 model. We rate it 8 out of 10 here.
Last year, the Santa Fe was IIHS Top Safety Pick + Award winner, and the 2020 model received five stars overall from the federal government. Automatic emergency braking is standard, and Hyundai has added blind-spot monitors on limited models, as well as rear-resident warnings for the base model SE and CELLS.
However, in a curious step, Santa Fe is no longer a standard with a blind-spot collision avoidance and cross-traffic warnings and an automatic braking system, as the feature is moved to Trim CELLS and above — a possibility to save money. This is a step backward, but it does not affect a strong crash-test rating.
