2021 Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec Rumors – The 2021 Hyundai Veloster is not a sporty-hatched carbon copy. Unlike compact cars on the road, asymmetric Veloster boasts two doors on the passenger side, but only the front door on the driver side.

Introduced as a model 2012, Veloster missed model 2018 years. The restored version is almost identical in shape but slightly larger. 2.0-liter engine base is more powerful this time around, get 15 horsepower. The LED light and backlight have been added. Hyundai has also launched the new Veloster N Edition, with a higher power and manual gearbox.

Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec Models

In addition to the new N models, Velosters come in five levels of Trim: 2.0 (base model), Premium 2.0, turbocharged R-Spec, Turbo, and Ultimate Turbo.

Hyundai has largely brought two of Veloster’s standard powertrains but added strength to one of them. 2.0 4-cylinder base-liter is now rated at 147 horsepower and 132 pound-foot torque, versus 132 HP and 120 pounds-feet in 2017 models.

The 1.6-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine is a total carryover, again issuing 201 horsepower and 195 pound-foot torque. The figure corresponds to any other Hyundai vehicle that offers the turbo-4 engine.

Both machines are mating with standard 6-Speed gearbox manuals. The 6-speed automatic transmission is optional for base engines, but Turbo-4 is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The drive Mode switches between normal, to Sport, and Smart on the automatic transmission version, but only normal and Sport on the manual-Shift model. This Mode transforms the steering heft, the progress throttle, and timing shifts.

In the new Veloster N, the 2.0-liter turbo-4 develops 275 horsepower and 260-pound-foot, paired with only a 6-speed manual transmission. The electronically controlled suspension is mounted, with multiple drive modes tuned with multiple tracks.

Both of the two rating agencies have been crash-tested Veloster at the moment yet. Each 2019 Veloster received an advanced collision warning with automatic emergency braking, plus an active line control.

The top model comes with a blind-spot monitor, but the basic model relies on a blind-spot mirror. Adaptive cruise control and pedestrian detection are on Ultimate Turbo.

2.0 Premium ($22,750) comes with 6-speed automatic transmission, 18-inch wheels, blind-spot monitors, Keyless ignition, smartphone wireless charging, an 8.0-inch touchscreen Infotainment, Infinity 8-speaker audio, sunroof, heated front seats, paddle shifters, and fabric/synthetic leather upholstery.

The R-Spec Turbo Manual ($22,900) holds a 1.6-liter turbo-4 and 6-Speed manual gearbox. The standard is a Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires Summer on 18-inch wheels, LED lights and taillights, Sport-tuned suspension/steering and exhaust, and alloy pedals.

The Turbo DCT ($25,400) Gets a 1.6-liter turbo and dual-clutch transmission, as well as heated front seats, sunroof, blind-spot monitors, leather/upholstery fabrics, and automatic climate control.

Turbo Ultimate ($26,650 with manual, $28,150 with dual-clutch) includes 1.6-liter turbo, leather seats, black roof, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, a head-up display, and pedestrian detection for automatic emergency braking.

Challenging offbeat in its original form, which Veloster has done has been a refined expert, for a more cohesive appearance. But the shape is unique and its configuration remains, topped by a sporty roofline.

The designer has done a good job of mixing the leading Grill, deep facia, and slimmed-down lights to correlate with other Hyundai models. The windshield pillar is pushed towards the back, stretching out the hood. Arch wheels boast striking flares.

A new diffuser flanked by the exhaust pipe is positioned middle: one for the standard model, but the twin pipes for the Turbo Veloster. A contrasting roof is available for Turbo. New Veloster acquires several different styling touches including a certain front/rear fascias and side air dams.

Inspired by the recently launched Kona crossover, the Veloster cabins are highlighted by a large touchscreen on top of the central heap. Piano Trim is black and plastic elements are hard, while abundant, neatly executed.

Although it seems smart, the bold door configuration does not add much utility. The interior space is almost unchanged, but the material quality reaches past the Veloster earlier.

The front seat has better padding now, with thicker top-back strengthening. The base Model gets a fabric seat, but some turbos feature a grippy fabric/leather combination.

Two mid-size adults fit in the back, at least for occasional jaundice. All that is told, reaching the back seat of Veloster is not much easier than entering a two-door hatchback of the same size or Coupe. Once there, a 6-foot passenger can expect to bend a little, kink knees out to fit.

Although the cabin remains a bit narrow, the headroom in a sunroof-equipped model is only adequate enough to keep the head of the high occupants from touching the roof. Electric seats are no longer offered.

Climate control and audio is set logically. Working with a well-implemented Infotainment system, either the 7.0 or 8.0-inch touchscreen is on top of an attractive central stack.

The rigid body structure has increased Veloster’s handling capability. The new multi-link suspension helps make it more predictable. Steering fast isn’t quite as precise as some drivers might desire, but it’s generally good, besides exhibiting some in the middle of wanders.

Ride quality on the company side, short on compliance. In the middle corner of the dune and sidewalk no longer interfere with the equilibrium of Veloster. Even Turbo models, if wear all-season tires, a gentle ride is enough to ensure adequate comfort. However, some skittering may occur when crossing fast and tight angles.

The base engine has yet to be Test-driven, but the 201-Horsepower Turbo promises to help a sizable joy. Energetic and responsive, the Turbo-4S felt strong and fast, aided by heavy vehicles of less than 3,000 pounds. In the manual-gearbox turbos, the shifting level produces Snick satisfactorily because it moves between ratios. Dual-clutch Hyundai transmissions shift cleanly at mid-range speeds but can be sensitive to urban speeds.

Turbos get amplified, the sound synthetic machine is pumped into the cab, but this feature can be softening or lethal. Otherwise, the door panels are thicker and more sound turns off helps keep unwanted noise under control.
